For the first time, AhlulBayt Student Association paired with Noor Islamic Cultural Center's youth group, MyImpact, to help carry out a service event. The event, which occurred on Saturday, March 4th, consisted of helping to set up and organize hundreds of canned goods and other donated non-perishable items, separating the items based on type, and bagging the food items to be redistributed to families in need in the area. 

 

Although this lunch packing event is a monthly, ongoing event held by NICC, the collaboration between the two groups, including getting to know each other, took months. The two groups came together to learn more about each other. Contact information was exchanged and the two teams brainstormed on how best to implement a service project together. After months of planning, ASA and MyImpact agreed to work together on an already existing project in order to give back to the community.
